Welcome to the laboratory for

Sensory & Social Brain Mechanisms

Who we are

We are a group of neuroscientists who develop and apply imaging techniques to study the brain in vivo. Our lab is part of the research group Neurodevelopmental Disorders of The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute), and of the Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR).

What we do

Neuroimaging techniques are a powerful tool to identify cortical and subcortical networks of cognitive functions at the whole scale level. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) can be used in both humans and animals to improve translational studies.

At the SSBM Lab, we are interested in applying fMRI to better understand the brain mechanisms involved in:
  • multisensory integration
  • social cognition (social interactions, observational learning)
  • neurodevelopment of these functions
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

We are using ACAR platforms:
  • Brain Imaging
  • Advanced Animal Models
